Multiple Transformation at Work

transformation is the word being widely use and discuss over the past few months and is gonna be for the next few years... we attended the ITLT Hub visit yesterday which was held at the Shangri-La hotel in KL and i guess the most significant transformation that all of us in the office are eager to see would be the so called Desktop 7...

the Desktop 7 is an initiative to decommision all our dinosaur desktop/laptop which are still running OS and application which backdated 10 years ago... and the best thing is that the Desktop 7 transformation will have the laptop UNLOCKED rather than the LOCKED version which we have been using all these while...

not only that, we are also allowed to browse freely in the office soon to get our external e-mails and others stuff... so let's wait and see how and where this Desktop 7 transformation will brings us to... but the most important question will be will this Desktop 7 dream materialized...

Echoes Of The Rainbow (歲月神偷) - Special Screening

few weeks back, i saw an advert on Canon Malaysia website that Simon Yam is coming over to Malaysia to promote his newly acclaimed award winning movie Echoes Of The Rainbow (歲月神偷)... and in that movie, he landed his first ever Hong Kong Best Actor award...

in that little advert, there is also a statement which says that all Canon EOS users are cordially invited to spent a special screening moment with him... the prerequisite is to drop them an e-mail with the name, mobile phone no and the Canon EOS model complete with it's serial number... and that's what i did... little did i know that they really replied my e-mail and off i went to GSC Pavilion with my full gear and tagging along is my 2nd sis which juz back from Turkmenistan...

each of the registered Canon EOS users are entitled with 2 tickets and a set of popcorn with coke being distributed at our respective seats in the cinema... how cool~... but then the center of attraction will be the sea of Canon EOS camera all pointing towards one direction, which is Simon Yam hahaha... and he's very friendly as well throughout the entire interview session...

Girl Name Vicky ~ The Opera

on Saturday nite, i had organized an unwind session with -ah yc- and i've sent out invitation to quite some of them... but then most of them couldn't make it and all it's left was me, -ah yc- and -ah callie-... so 3 of us...

we set to met at The Opera, Sunway Pyramid at 10:30pm and i reached there first as -ah yc- need to become the chauffeur hehehe... as i was waiting outside the entrance to The Opera, i was surrounded by a wave of people all stood there waiting for something i guess, maybe they were like me waiting for their frens to arrive... luckily i need not to wait that long before both of them arrived...

so the 3 of us paid our cover charge and went in with 3 bottles of Heineken beer (thinking back as we drank 4 jugs of beer, we should hv opened up a bottle of Hennesey hahaha)... maybe next round ;)

the place was already so packed that we can only placed ourselves at a table near the entrance (which turn out to be a good spot hahaha)... we started to catch up with each another while enjoying ourselves tuning in to the music that nite before later a huge group of people start to occupy the sofa seats next to us... there were roughly 10+ of them and with girls make up most of the numbers...

as the nite grew... those girls engine became much warmed up and they dance each another (girls among girls) fanatically and sexily hahaha... they even invited -ah callie- to join in their 'sensual girl dance' haha... among the girls there, i managed to get a name on one of them which is Vicky and got her phone number right before she left the place... hmm... was then discussing with -ah yc- and -ah callie- that if the number she gave is her number???!

so on Sunday morning as i woke up, i send a text message to the number she gave and anxiously waiting for a reply... indeed she replied back... hahaha... ;)

Colleague's Ford Focus ~ Accident

got a Lotus Notes Sametime message this morning from -ah ling- that he met with an accident yesterday at TPM's carpark A with a Perodua Viva... ops... there goes his new Ford Focus... so i asked him about the damage sustained by his Focus and he mentioned that only his front bumper needed a realignment job and a slight crack on his windscreen water reservoir...

then on the Viva, ouch!... the entire rear passenger door was badly damaged... luckily -ah ling- was on the correct side and the Viva's owner will need to foot for the repair bill (that is if that guy act on his promised hahaha)... the total bill to repair his Focus is RM 400 to realign his front bumper... ouch! to fix my Wira last time only cost me around RM 200+...

Lunch With Barney and ex-Colleagues

on Tuesday when i went out for lunch with -ah jiew jeh-, i saw -ah barney-'s car with him inside (well technically i only saw the back of his head hahaha)...

then on Wednesday nite i found him on YM and chatted with him for a while and we tentatively set to have lunch on Friday with -ah eva- and -ah amanda- (coz he's gonna board a flight back to UK this Saturday)... so came Friday yesterday and i tot he cancelled it as he's on midnite shift this week... then around 12 noon, -ah eva- called me and saying that the lunch is on... oppss... so i turned down lunch with boss... hehehe...

-ah eva- jeh told me that she gonna bring me to a night club for lunch hehehe... and indeed when we reached, it was a night club but with a restaurant upstairs haha... we ate the Dim Sum buffet which is RM 25++ per person... overall the Dim Sum was ok ok and we had a great time there laughing at each another ;p

Knowledge Transfer ~ Completed

i've already started my work on my upcoming new role which was erm... discussed about for the last 6 mths hahaha... and finally i will move over on 1st June 2010... between last week till yesterday, there were a series of knowledge transfer or so called new hire checklist that i need to complete in order to speed up myself into the new role...

and yesterday, marks the finishing point of it... so am i ready for the new role and challenges lies ahead???!... not sure lar... let's see how it goes bah...

the project board held an appreciation dinner for the wave 1 members at TGI Fridays, IOI Mall yesterday nite but then, i choose not to attend... somehow i dun really think there are much to be celebrated anyway... taking away my role or existing staff role and then outsourced it to vendors... and now you're telling me that you're celebrating it as a success and appreciate us for transfering our job role and knowledge to the vendors?!!!... with us being redundant and hv to leave the company by this month end?!!!... is this something worth celebrating?!!!... sigh.... :(

The Chronicle of Aranda Community Housing Guard

approx. 6 mths ago, there is a new initiative brought up by the Aranda Community (the housing community at my residential area) to revamp the Housing Guard services and we were informed that this time we are required to pay upfront 6 mths in advanced (RM50/mth)... the initial response then was not that good as many of them felt that it was a burden for them to pay the upfront of 6 mths...

however, we managed to make up the minimum number of houses committed and the project was a go... fast forward 6 mths and it's already gonna be June 2010 next mth and it's time again for the payment... 2 weeks ago when we came back from dinner, we found a notice at our postal box informing us that the response this time around has dropped below the minimum mark and the community have no choice but to scrap this Housing Guard off...

the original 380 houses commited 6 mths ago has dropped to only 241 houses this time around?!!!... i was pretty shocked when i heard the news as i felt that the guards are actually doin the job pretty well and my initial thought was that the members will increased instead of now decreasing???!...

y'day when i got home mom informed me that with the Aranda Community disbanded, the security guards' company Sri Lara Joint Security Services Sdn. Bhd. will now take up back the initiative to run the services once again just like it was before (back in before the December 2009 initiative)... the only difference now is that they will need to collect 3 mths upfront and must meet the minimum 380 houses... as usual, i wrote down a cheque and passed it to the guards for the payment... so let's see how it goes...

Korea Win Over China for Uber Cup ~ 3-1

it was so sweet when the live telecast crew focuses on Li Yong Bo's face yesterday when China lost their opening singles to the Korean which subsequently lost the Uber Cup to the Koreans after 12 years reigning it...

after Korean first single has inspired their teammates, it is then the first doubles of the Koreans again make a dent on the China hope when they won that match in 3 sets... although Wang Xin of China injected hope to their teammates in the 2nd singles by beating the Korean, the 2nd doubles of Korea successfully trashed out the Olympic Champion from China in 3 sets to seal off China's fate...

and again, the look on China head coach Li Yong Bo's face is priceless... as he has to eat his own words of arrogant... thumbs up for the Korean... and today later will be the Thomas Cup final between the Indonesia and China... i do hope that Indonesia can produced an upset game similar to the Koreans and this will make it much more sweeter...

Kah Sheung & Canny's B'day Party @ Opera

haven't been down to pub or disco lately to unwind myself, so when auntie Angeline ask me to join her for Kah Sheung and Canny's Birthday celebration down at The Opera, Sunway... i accepted the invitation...

after watching China demolished Malaysia in the Thomas Cup 2010 Semifinals, i drove down to Sunway Pyramid and join them... and as expected auntie Angeline already half KO-ed and broke 2 glass hahahaha... zzzz... then as the nite goes deeper, she lagi KO hahaha... in the end Jordan came and escort her back home liao...

a lot of colleagues were there last nite and some of them being officially intro for the first time even though we always met each another at the offiz... so guess these kind of occasion is good for ice breaking... ;p... Ling came quite late as he drove all the way from Bangsar to Sunway and he was later joined by 2 frens of his... we buzz off around 3am and not before having a drink at the nearby mamak...

overall it was a cracker nite... ;)

Malaysia Winning the Thomas Cup?

well the mission is to win back the Thomas Cup which was last won back in 1992 on our home soil... this time around, after 18 years the Malaysian Team wanna repeat the same glory again on our home soil but this time it's in Bukit Jalil Stadium rather than the ageing Stadium Negara...

during the Group match against the Japanese, our National team crumble to a 3-2 defeat after comfortably leading with 2-0... while many argue that the National team lost that Group match intentionally to avoid clash with either the Koreans and the Chinese... whether this is true or not, no one actually knew about it and maybe it was just a mere speculation...

then yesterday nite, again the Malaysian made a good start with a 2-0 lead but then again crumble down in the subsequent 2 matches to give the Danes levelled up at 2-2... in comes the deciding match where our once National hero and 2003 All England Champion, Mohd Hafiz Hashim up against Joachim Persson... and the result was a straight game win for the Malaysian (fuh... what a great relieve it was...)

the main question now is that can the Malaysian overcome the Chinese team which crushed the Koreans in 3 games to make it 3-0 yesterday... i guess there are lots of doubts in our National team performance as only our first singles and first doubles pair are delivering the points consistently... sigh*** will our country need to wait for another 2 years???... we will know it on Friday...

she's a close fren of mine for years... i knew her from online and since then we chit chat with each another via either sms or messenger, but then we never actually meet up... even though when i know that she's joining my sister company about a year ago...

there are times when we bumped into each another at the parking lot or the company shuttle but then we never actually greet hahaha... funny rite???... i also dunno why... then yesterday, while i was surfing the net... i got a message from her saying that she's leaving the company this Thursday... hmm... that's a bit shocking though... but then after know her reason and that she have a better opportunity on her hand, i wish her the best of luck...

3rd in Fantasy Premier League

BPL just ended on Sunday with Chelsea emerge as the Champion while Man Utd trailing by 1 point... at the same time, it also marks the end of my team in the Fantasy Premier League game which i played with some of my colleagues... my team took the 3rd spot out of 10 teams hehehe...

the most surprising thing was that my selection of players for the last match got me a total of 93 points which is my team highest of all time hahaha... and the gap between me and the 2nd spot team was only 55 points... if only we have 2-3 match more to go, i bet i can overtook him for the 2nd spot hehehe... but then, guess i have to try harder next season... ;)

well i guess almost everyone of us whom had watched 叶问 (Ip Man) last year eagerly awaits the second movie this year as the first one was a cracker... and few hours ago, i brought mom and dad to GSC 1 Utama to watch 叶问 2 (Ip Man 2) ... it was a stunner!... 2 thumbs up for the superb fight scene choreography (the one i liked most is the one between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung)...

i heard there is a third installment coming up where as the focus will be on Bruce Lee, the protege of the grandmaster Ip Man... and guess who is rumored to take up the role as Bruce Lee hehehehe... it's Jay Chou, and i have to admit that he may not be up for the role since the last 2 movies of him didn't do well in the big screen... but then, who knows since he's the new Green Hornet (Jay Chou plays the role Green Hornet which was one of Bruce Lee's famous movie)...

Odometer Died-ed

i tot it was ok already last week as the odometer managed to clock itself from 0 to 999km and reset itself back to 0 and start counting again... but then it started to stall once more yday nite when i was on my way to Port Klang for dinner...

this time, no matter how many times i press the reset gauge... the odometer doesn't pass the 10km mark... so finally i asked mom to help me to bring my car to the workshop tomorrow and have it replaced... zzzz... the price???... should be around RM 200+ for a new original unit... sigh***
